At St. Barnabas we observe and celebrate all of the sacraments and pastoral sacraments of the church including Baptism, Confirmation, Marriage, and Burials. Here are some things for you to know if you are interested in these parts of our faith life together.

Baptism

Baptism at Saint Barnabas

The sacrament of Baptism was one of two sacraments modeled for us by Jesus himself. We offer baptism to people of all ages. At St. Barnabas, we understand Baptism to be an affirmation of our relationship with God and the worshipping community. We invite you to be a part of that worshipping community to better enable you, or your child, to experience fully the love of Christ. Baptism is offered several times a year:

  • In the fall, between September and November

  • In January, when we celebrate the Baptism of Jesus

  • At the Great Vigil of Easter held on the evening before Easter Sunday (adult & older children only at this service)

  • In the Spring, during either late Epiphany or early Easter seasons

  • In June, close to the celebration of St. Barnabas day on June 11th

Other dates may be scheduled in consultation with the clergy. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to learn more about dates and baptismal preparation for candidates and/or their parents.

Confirmation/Reception for Adults
Contact: our clergy

Were you baptized and/or confirmed in another church? Raised in another tradition and now you find yourself at St. Barnabas? At the annual Bishop's visitation each spring, we offer the opportunity for adults to either be confirmed or received by the bishop to become "official" Episcopalians! If you've been attending St. Barnabas for some time and would like to make this step, contact the clergy.

See the Children & Youth page for more information about our Confirmation program for young people.
